Meghan Markle is reportedly planning to give her family financial independence by building a media empire stretching from TV deals to lifestyle blogs and product lines.
The Duchess of Sussex and her husband Prince Harry have announced plans to step away from their roles as senior members of the royal family and split their time between the UK and Canada.
Part of their plans involves becoming financially independent by working instead of relying on handouts from the Crown and Harry’s dad Prince Charles.
Rumours about what the Sussexes could do for work have been swirling ever since the announcement and the issue is sure to have been part of the royal crisis talks hosted by The Queen at Sandringham yesterday.
Now details about their plans for the Sussex brand appear to be emerging.
Harry and Meghan have applied to trademark their brand name Sussex Royal – which they use for their Instagram account – for a number of products including clothing such as footwear and pyjamas.
The application, filed in the UK last June – also covered items such as magazines, greetings cards, socks and pencils, even alcoholic beverages.
